Seeing the poetry in what is present, in the now moment; reacting spontaneously and without thinking, recording a passing emotion. This is the substance of this series of photographs. Tired of looking for images that suited an ‘idea’, I decided to open my mind to responding to whatever I came across – things I might generally pass by without noticing. Following a form of mindfulness similar to a Zen meditation. The pleasure lies in being surprised by what comes to you. All images are shot on a phone camera with the intention of keeping it very lo-fi, allowing a swift, instinctive response unencumbered by technical considerations. Just capture the image.
These are some of the images I took and which I have used to create a book . It can be viewed and purchased through Blurb.
